| Cortina d'Ampezzo, the Queen of the Dolomites, hosted for the first time the Mountain Bike World Cup, with both disciplines Dual and Downhill, on May 27th and 28th 2000. Equipe Dolomiti, together with UCI and Cortina Turismo, in charge of the organisation, did their best to realise an unforgettable event. The logistics and the surrounding environment make this venue one of the most spectacular ones in the World Cup circuit. The racetrack is difficult and demanding, as well as full of drama with the backdrop of legendary Mount Cristallo, symbol of the enchanting mountains encircling Cortina.
