Ice-skating
The Olympic Ice Stadium was built to host the on-ice sports disciplines of 7th Winter Olympics in 1956, and it was "in the open air".
Nowadays, the Municipality have realized a cover for the stadium. Therefore weather conditions are no more a problem for the various events – sports, cultural, folklore – that take place here.

An artificially refrigerated ice-rink (30x60 m) is open both in winter and in summer. There are: a bar, ice-skating instructors, a solarium, and a playground for the children.
Once a week it is possible to skate late in the evening with the "Ice Disco Dance", a sort of on-ice disco where one can dance-skate while listening to the latest hits.

Curling
On the ice, with a pair of shoes on, playing with a broom and a stone: that’s curling. In the winter season the New Wave Curling Cortina organises classes, individual lessons, or matches for the tourists on an indoor ice rink. All the necessary equipment is provided.

Ice-bouldering
Strange as it may seem, you may even climb up ice cliffs. Simple gear, a touch of imagination and… here’s the magic! Two sharp ice-axes, a good pair of crampons, a frozen waterfall within easy reach: that’s all is needed for these vertical games suggested by the Alpine Guides Guide Alpine di Cortina. An alternative opportunity to have some fun in winter even when the snow is poor.
Those who fancy a challenging experience should have a glimpse at the gorges and the snow slides down the mountain walls: the game is endless.
