The Croda da Lago "G.Palmieri" mountain inn is located at the foot of the eastern flanks of the mountain bearing the same name and it is close to the Federa lake, one of the most enchanting lakes in the Dolomites.
From the deck of the inn you will enjoy spectacular views of the Ampezzo valley and of the surrounding peaks.
During the summer, Croda da Lago is the destination of many hikes and is a very convenient rest stop for the climbers attempting the rock faces of Croda da Lago and Becco di Mezzodì.
In addition, it is a compulsory stop along one of the most spectacular trekking routes in the Dolomites: the Alta Via No.1
In wintertime it is the favourite destination of backcountry skiers and offers a number of enchanting snowshoeing itineraries.
The mountain inn, owned by the CAI (Italian Alpine Club) group of Cortina, is managed by mountain guide Modesto Alverà. It is open both in winter and in summer and offers accommodation and bar-restaurant services with typical local specialities.
