The Croda da Lago mountain inn was built by mountain guide Giovanni Barbaria in 1901. A few years later, in 1905, it was sold to the Reichenberg group of the Austrian-German Alpine Club, which managed the inn till the end of the First World War. In 1920 the ownership was given to the CAI group of Cortina, to which it still belongs.
The original building has been renovated several times over the years and is today a modern and hospitable mountain inn with overnight accommodation for 45, showers and bathrooms.
It is currently managed by mountain guide Modesto Alverà, with great experience and passion; Modesto is helped by his wife and children.
The inn offers bar-restaurant services with the typical local specialities and a friendly atmosphere.
