The peaceful beauty of the lake makes it a unique jewel among the giant surrounding peaks of Croda da Lago, Croda Rossa, Pomagagnon, Cristallo, Sorapiss and the Becco di Mezzodì.
Far away from the ski lifts and the bustle of the town centre, the lake can be reached on foot or with snowshoes from the locations of Campo, Ru Curto, Peziè de Parù and from Passo Giau, and it is perfect for tobogganing.
Modesto and Monica at the Croda da Lago mountain refuge, located right by the lake, welcome guests for lunch, dinner, and stays.
The refuge is open every day from 26 December to 6 January, and every weekend until mid-March.
