In the place where the Ristorante Grill da Strobel now stands, there was once the Albergo Passo Falzarego (Falzarego Pass Hotel), which operated from 1919 to 1951.
It was subsequently restructured, becoming a restaurant and bar, functioning as such until 1968.

The present building, inaugurated in the summer of 2002, is the work of the mountain guide Paolo Michielli "Strobel" (in the picture).
This work is also intended as a memorial to his brother Albino, a mountain guide and a member of the local “scoiattolo” or “squirrel” group of guides, who tragically perished in the spring of 1964 on the nearby Torre Falzarego.
