Description: a long crossing route on the north of “Re delle Dolomiti”(“King of the Dolomites”): from Valboite it’s possible to reach Cadore through a wild and very attractive landscapes.
General access: from San Vito di Cadore go up to Scotér-Palatini mountain hut; during the tourist season you can use the chair lift.
Access: on the right of the mountain hut follow the indications for “Forcella Piccola (Small Pass)”
Route: go up along the forest road. Then a little bit over the mountain hut (at a 1st switchback level) take a path on the right and go towards Forcella Piccola. At the beginning the path is looking easy but after becomes more difficult near our mountain pass. To reach the pass it is necessary to go on the left under the Scotér hut and from there go until the pass.
Return: from the pass go down to Rifugio Galassi (Galassi Mountain Hut), continue maintaining the left side of Val d’Oten (Oten Valley) because is more secure and will help you to avoid falling from the rocks and to finish under the mountain hut. Follow CAI’s 255 path that at the beginning is going through the centre of the valley and after you’ll enter the woods while the path is becoming more tight. Following this you’ll get to Capanna degli Alpini (Alpine Hut) where you can take a forest road that is going along the left side of the torrent. After a long downhill you’ll reach Praciadelàn, over Calalzo di Cadore.
