Historical Auronzo
Archaeological digs have revealed small clues to Auronzo's past. From ceramics, likely of funereal use, to the Roman finds of Piazza Santa Giustina, to the finds of Monte Calvario, these artefacts have allowed us to trace thousands of years of history in Auronzo.

Taking the old path from the town centre toward the peak of Monte Calvario, concomitant with stops along an ancient Via Crucis, you will be taking this voyage into the past with your own eyes. The wall structure, seen in the central part of the high area, dates from Roman times and was a religious site from the end of the 2nd century BC until the 4th century AD.

The mountains surrounding Auronzo and Misurina were the stage of some of bitter battles fought during World War I.
