This itinerary has been worked out by Cortina Turismo together with Cortina Skipass Office and Dolomiti Superski. The tour will give you the opportunity to race down the legendary tracks where 1956 Olympics took place:
Pista Olympia (Stratofana), the protagonist in the Downhill race
Pista Vitelli, the protagonist in the Giant Slalom
Pista "a" Col Druscié, the protagonist in the Slalom.
The tour should be attempted by experienced skiers only; alternative slopes, however, make it accessible even to those who do not feel olympic champions at all, but wish to experience this amazing adventure.
The surprising "Olympic dish", served at the cosy mountain inns along the track, will boost your energies.
The First World War Tour
The itinerary runs along the Dolomite frontline and around Col di Lana, the bloody hill, symbol of the Great War. On the track one encounters emplacements, tunnels, and loopholes built by the Italian, Austro-Hungarian and German troops to both face the enemy and endure the bitter conditions of high altitude winters during the First World War.
The tour is accessible to all, adults and children alike, and also to snowboarders.
The time required to complete the circuit is 7 to 8 hours, including a lunch break. It is recommended to set off early in the morning.
For the Great War tour, the Dolomiti Superski pass must be purchased; holders are entitled to free skibus services. Taxi-buses and horse-drawn sleighs are to be paid for, instead.
Sella Ronda or Five Passes Tour
This panoramic skiing tour around the Sella group is the longest in the Dolomites. Start early in the morning from the Falzarego Pass and take the Lagazuoi cablecar to the top; from there descend through the Armentarola as far as Corvara where you can follow the tour clockwise.
As many as 26 kilometres of slopes in one day over the Falzarego, Gardena, Sella, Pordoi and Campolongo passes. The track, accessible to intermediate skiers also, is surely one of the most interesting skiing tours of the entire Alpine arc.
A Dolomiti Superski pass must be purchased for the Sella Ronda tour.
The expertise and the experience of the ski teachers and alpine guides will help you to enjoy at the best the slopes and the rest points of our Skitours
