and Adults
We suggest you some itineraries for sledging in addition with walking or snowshoeing. You can also have lunch or dinner in a mountain hut.

Descent from Rifugio Ra Stua.
Leave your car at the car-park at the beginning of the road leading to the "rifugio". Rifugio Ra Stua is at 1668 m and about 1 hour walk from the car park (open during the Christmas period and at weekends). The 3km-long descent down the small road is pleasant and varied, somewhere slightly steep, with a vertical drop of 200 m.

Descent from Rifugio Croda da Lago or Malga Federa.
The way up, taking about 3 hours for arriving at the Croda da Lago and 2 hours for arriving at the Federa Mountain hut. It is long and rather tiring, but you will be enthusiast about the endless, exciting descent.
If you feel you are not physically fit for such an
"enterprise" you may contact the managers of the "rifugio" and inquire about transport by motorsled.
On request, they organize dinners and transport by snowmobile or snowcat. After dinner, if you feel brave, you can descent on sledge.

Malga Federa (Phone +39 339 6459991)

Descent from Rifugio Scoiattoli.
During the Winter season, the small mountain road from "Cian Zopé" – on the road to Passo Falzarego – up to Rifugio Scoiattoli is groomed.
The "rifugio" lies in the area of 5 Torri, at 2255 m and is always open from December to April . The track is 4 km long, with a vertical drop of 550 m. You can walk up the nice small road , it takes about one and a half hour, or you may find more convenient the chairlift of 5 Torri starting from Bai de Dones. If you choose to use the uphill facility, you should bear in mind that the descent by sled will lead you about 3 and a half km away from the chairlift car-park. However, a regular bus service is available throughout the winter season.
On request, they organize dinners and transport by snowmobile or chairlift.

Discesa dal Rifugio Dibona.
Rifugio Dibona is situated at 2037 m (open during the Christmas period. About 1 hour-walk from the small car-park situated along the mountain road to Passo Falzarego. The descent is beautiful and it is not steep, therefore suitable also for children.

Moon Light Sledge
With the Moon light sledge program you enjoy a wonderful, dynamic after-dinner evening on the snow with your friends. First you go up the mountain to enjoy a bird's eye view of Cortina with its night lights, and then, wearing your protective helmet with its illuminated front piece, you take a thrilling ride down to the valley on winter sport's most "fun" vehicle, the sled.
Cortina Adrenalin Center
If the atmospheric conditions are right, you can also stop at Cortina's astronomical observatory "Osservatorio Astronomico di Cortina" for a visit and a view of the stars.

Suggestions
Sleds and "ciaspe" (snow-rackets) can be hired at some of the ski-rental services of Cortina.

Remember to pack some hot drinks, some fruit, and energy-giving food, but do not overload your backsack with useless items. Do not leave your litter and respect the environment.

All the head-starts for these itineraries can be reached by local bus service. Before starting, you are encouraged to inquire about weather conditions and avalanche hazard. If you do not feel confident or skilled enough, you may contact the Alpine Guides or the Adrenalin Sport Center.
