Via attrezzata all'Averau (2649m)

This short but not to be underestimated via ferrata leads from Rif. Averau (2413m) to the Averau summit and its magnificent view towards Monte Pelmo, the Civetta, Antelao, Sorapis and the not far-off Tofana di Rozes.
From Rifugio Averau follow the marked path northwards up a tiring scree slope to the start of the ferrata beneath Averau’s northeast gully. In quick succession ascend the various stepped sections past a chimney and 60m of of via ferrata to the crest above. The track then leads through the wide bowl to the nearby summit cross.
Descent: Follow the ascent route back down to the starting point at Rif. Averau

Ferrata Ra Gusela (Nuvolau)

A new, short via ferrata which replaces the original one along the gully which is now closed for safety. The via ferrata runs along the southeast face and is normally undertaken in descent leaving from Rifugio Nuvolau. This is reached via path no. 439, along the wide ramp of the northwest crest.

From the refuge descend left towards the SE crest following path no. 438 to the start of the via ferrata: climb down the ladder and then continue on along an equipped ledge. This proceeds to the bottom of the southeast rockface and the impressive vertical yellow Ra Gusela wall. Here the path joins up with path no. 443 which, if followed to the left, leads to Rifugio Scoiattoli in an hour while to the right it leads to Passo Giau. There it joins path no. 452 which leads back up to Rifugio Averau (1 hour).

From Rifugio Averau descend to Passo Falzarego along path no. 439 to Rifugio Scoiattoli (15 min). Continue on down by chairlift or along path no. 441 which in an hour leads directly to the Pass.
