The Cinque Torri - Averau area is certainly the best in Cortina for skiing. The northern exposure of some runs offers excellent snow conditions throughout the winter and the new snowmaking facilities guarantee a perfect snowcover even when snowfalls are poor.
The southern slopes as well , descending from Rifugio Averau to Rifugio Fedare and the Giau Pass, are excellent for skiing

The ski-runs in the Cinque Torri area extend over two opposite slopes. The north-facing one counts a larger number of tracks connecting Rifugio Averau to Bai de Dones; whereas, there is only one run on the south-facing slope from Forcella Nuvolau to Rifugio Fedare in the Giau Pass area.
All the slopes, ranging from easy to intermediate ratings, are highly rewarding for the beauty of the landscape. The favourable exposure of north-facing slopes guarantees optimum snow conditions throughout the winter season.

The Cinque Torri lie within the Dolomiti Superski area, and convenient connections to the nearby areas are provided.
The area can be reached skiing from the Falzarego Pass along a connection trail; while a very frequent skibus service provides transportation back to the Pass.
The same skibus service, in the opposite direction, leads to the Pocol-Tofana area and Cortina lifts.
