How to get there

By train
These villages have no train service but direct buses connect to the closest stations. Calalzo di Cadore lies 35km to the south (1 hour by bus) and is the end of the line for trains departing from Venice S. Lucia (3 hours). During the high season a train runs direct from Rome. Dobbiaco is the closest station in the north (45km) and takes about 1 hour by bus. Trains for Dobbiaco depart from Fortezza to the west (1.15 hrs).

By plane
The closest airports are Treviso, Venice, Verona and Innsbruck in Austria. From Venice airport a taxi leads to the railway station at Mestre in 20/30 minutes. A 24 hour Radiotaxi service can be contacted on +39041 936222.
Alternatively, take the bus (either ACTV or ATVO) directly from the airport. Tickets can be purchased within the terminal.

From and to Venice and Treviso airports, from December 20th 2003 to March 28th 2004, a bus transfer service is available free of charge or at reduced price.

Route map

By car
San Vito, Borca and Vodo di Cadore can easily be reached from the south via the motorway A27 that starts at Mestre and finishes at Pian di Vedoja (Belluno). From here continue along the highway SS51 Alemagna. Calculate just under two hours from Mestre.
From the north take the motorway A22, exit at Bressanone and continue for Dobbiaco and then Cortina (roughly 1 hour from Bressanone).
