Borca is located strategically in the middle of a long and wide valley, dwarfed by the magnificent mountains towering high overhead. Cortina is located just 10 mins drive away at the end of this valley, while 20 mins to the south lies Tae, an important fork in the main road.
Borca is shrouded in history and tradition and is the scene of ancient legends, for the larch and fir tree forests hosted the mythical and argumentative forest-dwelling "anguanes".
Borca was formed by a remote group of men who transformed the wild countryside into the natural habitat of a working community, giving all the opportunity to live and prosper. And to live well. Nowadays tourism constitutes the main source of income for the valley economy and Borca has accepted this most recent challenge with open arms.
900 meters above sea level, the Cadore offers long isolated walks that suit everybody's tastes. These are situated in a natural habitat to be protected while at the same time being the focal element of the local culture.
Hotels and bed and breakfasts, apartments and residences, shops and meeting points, a famous Holiday
centre with 260 small villas. All of these can be found here and are part of Borca's continuous quest to keep ahead of time. Their challenge won through perseverance.
