HIKING - VIE FERRATE
One of the greatest thrills an expert hiker can get is to walk a Via Ferrata. And there can be no equal, in terms of number and beauty, to the “iron paths” in the Dolomites.

Rifugio Pomedes is the ideal headstart for some of the most spectacular itineraries of the Tofana area.

A word of warning: correct equipment, experience and indepth knowledge of the mountain environment are vital ingredients if one is to enjoy a safe day out on a Via Ferrata.

Among the most interesting itineraries we suggest the "Astaldi" a trail laid out with cable for support, one of the oldest "vie ferrate" of the Ampezzo valley. The trail follows a ledge on a Raibl formation of red, grey, green, and violet rocky layers. This highly scenic route is also extremely interesting from a geological point of view.
Ferrata Astaldi
Ferrata "Giuseppe Olivieri" - Punta Anna
This ascent, almost entirely equipped with cables, follows the steep southern arête up Punta Anna, the large outcrop that looks onto the Tofana di Mezzo. Without a doubt one of the most interesting and beautiful via ferrata in the Dolomites, its Ferrata Giuseppe Olivieri
steepness, exposure and beauty render it immensely satisfying, and the view onto the imposing south face of the Tofana di Rozes is unforgettable.

Ferrata "Gianni Aglio" - Tofana di Mezzo
The ferrata leads up the highest of the three Tofane. When joined to the Giuseppe Olivieri ferrata at Punta Anna it makes up a long and difficult, but highly satisfying traverse for the well-trained. Ferrata Gianni Aglio

Ferrata "Giovanni Lipella" - Tofana di Rozes
A splendid journey into the heart of the Dolomites and a trip into history where the most tragic and memorable events of the First World War took place. Ferrata Giovanni Lipella
