In the Summerseason 2009 we are open from 4th July to 20th September.

Rifugio Pomedes is the ideal headstart for a wide range of excursions in the Tofane Mountain group.

The breathtaking backdrop, home to chamois, eagles, and marmots, is a natural environment where wildlife and man have found a uniquely perfect balance.

This area, a heaven for summer hikers, is rich in trails, both easy and demanding, that winds through woods or climb up as far as the rocky walls of the Tofane and of the nearby peaks.

The Tofana mountain chain is shrouded in history, quiet testament to the great hardship endured during the First World War.

Innumerable paths lead into this environment that has, even today, remained wild and largely untouched.

This area is well-worth discovering, for on the history of mountaineering in the Dolomites is written over all its fantastic alpine walls. Long, airy vie ferratas wind their way up to the summits, from where steep gullys entice skiers in winter.
