"Mario Rimoldi" Museum of Modern Art

Cortina

A precious collection of sculpture and painting by the greatest twentieth century Italian artists.

From De Chirico, De Pisis and Carrà, to Morandi, Depero, Sironi and Rotella, the exhibition offers an unmissable journey through the best of contemporary art.

From January 2012 the museum is enriched further thanks to Alessandra Allaria, daughter of the collector and professor Antonio Allaria (1915-1990), who has l90 works on loan to the museum, of which more than 70 are by Mario Sironi – including three large canvasses and four rare mosaics.

The union of the two collections has made it possible to reconstruct an important piece of modern art history. In addition to hosting one of the largest national collections of de Pisis, the Rimoldi museum, thanks to the new additions, will also host a unique collection of works by Mario Sironi.

Also Picasso, de Pisis, De Chirico, Guttuso and Morandi have landed in the Dolomites, making the Ampezzo museum a point of reference for the study and understanding of modern Italian art.
