The Tre Sassi Fort, on the Valparola pass, is one of the most interesting testimonies of the Great War on the Dolomite front. It was built in 1897 in defense of the southern borders of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and was renovated in 1910. After a few weeks of war the fort was struck by bombs fired from the 5 Torri, and was evacuated.
Today the fort has been restored and exhibits the equipment and everyday objects used by the soldiers.
