An easy route, varied and panoramic, that reaches some of the best-known locations in the Dolomites, returning to the starting-point after an enjoyable descent, running alongside the enchanting Lake Misurina and going through the historic village of Alverà.

From the bus station in Cortina d’Ampezzo, head north on the Alemagna road, Strada Statale 51, towards Dobbiaco / Austria. Carry on climbing slightly for about 15 kilometres until you reach the Cimabanche Pass, and then continue gently downhill for the same distance. On the way, after passing Lake Landro, you can stop to admire, on your right, a superb view of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo peaks. Carrying on towards Dobbiaco, go past the war cemetery at the hamlet Sorgenti, and before reaching the built-up part of Dobbiaco, on the left you will see the green water of the like-named lake.

On the way back, take the same road for the first section of the route, until you reach Carbonin, where you turn left onto the road Strada Provinciale 49 towards Misurina, a location that you will reach after about 8 kilometres. Cycling alongside the charming lake, continue towards Cortina d’Ampezzo on the road Strada Regionale 48, and after a challenging series of climbs and descents, you will reach the Tre Croci Pass, where you will start an enjoyable ride downhill which takes you back to the starting-point, after having gone through the historic Ampezzo valley hamlet Alverà.
