Great War snowshoeing

Starting from the Col Gallina hut, go up the ski slopes and turn left just before the top station of the chair lift. Take the 'Limedes' piste, descending on your right, and follow it all the way to the top station of the ski lift. From here continue on easy terrain where you can find and admire some military posts dating back to the Great War fought in the Dolomites between 1915 and 1918.

Throughout the winter it is possible, upon reservation, to be accompanied by historical reenactors dressed in the clothes of soldiers during the First World War who will tell you anecdotes and stories from the years of the conflict. The experience also includes a meal eaten at Cima Gallina at the War Outpost.

The route may present difficulties linked to the conditions of the snow cover and the type of terrain. 

It is always advisable to seek assistance from mountain guides and to check snow and weather conditions before any trip.
