To Malga Peziè De Parù

From the car park alongside the characteristic restaurant on Lake Pianozes, take the track that leads to the mountain lodge Rifugio Lago d'Ajal, following the signs for track number 430. Once you have reached the vicinity of the lodge, which is open only in the summer months, continue on track 431 until you reach a clearing with the mountain hut “Cason del Macarón”. At the fork, take path 406 until you reach the Giau Pass state road. Cross the road and continue towards the left until, after about 2 hours walk, you reach the mountain hut Malga Peziè de Parù, from where there is a splendid view of mount Tofana di Rozes and the 5 Torri group. In this attractive, family-run setting you can enjoy classic Ampezzo mountain cuisine, prepared according to the traditional recipes.
For the return trip, follow the same route back.

The route has no specific difficulties, except for those due to the distance, the total ascent and the variable conditions of the snow cover.
It is always advisable to seek assistance from mountain guides and to check snow and weather conditions before any trip.

How to reach the starting point
From the centre of Cortina, take the road towards San Vito di Cadore-Venice. Shortly after having gone past the roundabout near the church Madonna della Difesa (not far from the cemetery), take Via delle Guide. Before the hill sloping up towards the state road, turn right, continuing towards the hamlet Campo di Sotto. From here, turn right before the Enel power station, reaching the car park 50 metres above Chalet Lago Pianozes.
