To Malga Ra Stua

Difficulty
Intermediate
Time
3 h

From the Sant Hubertus car park, take the prepared track that goes uphill towards the mountain hut Malga Ra Stua. After about 2.5 km and one-and-a-half hours’ walk, you will reach the mountain hut built within the Natural Park of the Ampezzo Dolomites. Here you can enjoy tasty recipes such as Ra Stua-style tagliatelle with sausage and mushrooms, and cutlets with polenta and melted cheese.

If you wish, you can continue towards the mountain lodges Rifugio Biella and Rifugio Sennes (tracks 6 and 6A) or alternatively towards Rifugio Fodara Vedla (track 9). These tracks start from the Campo di Croce clearing that is a few minutes’ walk from the mountain hut.

For the return trip, follow the same route back.

The route has no specific difficulties, except for those due to the distance, the total ascent and the variable conditions of the snow cover.
It is always advisable to seek assistance from mountain guides and to check snow and weather conditions before any trip.

How to reach the starting point

From the centre of Cortina d’Ampezzo, take the road towards Dobbiaco. A few kilometres after the hamlet Fiames, at the first hairpin bend of the Cimabanche Pass, turn left towards the Sant Hubertus car park.
