Via ferrata Vandelli

Difficulty

Time

Elevation gain

Start
Passo Tre Croci
Arrival
Passo Tre Croci

Via ferrata of intermediate difficulty to reach the panoramic Col del Fuoco peak at 2360m above the magnificent Sorapis Lake.

From the Tre Croci Pass, where it is possible to leave the car (it is advisable to arrive early in the morning due to the large number of people), take path no. 215 towards Rifugio Vandelli (1926m). After a due stop at the Sorapis Lake with its magical crystal colour, take path no. 243, which in about half an hour reaches the start of the ferrata at 2110m, at the foot of the imposing west face of Col del Fuoco.

The ferrata is relatively easy but requires a firm step because it does not have steel cables at all points, especially on the 7 short ladders at the start of the route where it is not possible to belay completely, and on certain points of the rocky gullies that alternate with ledges.

The descent takes place on the same route as the ascent.

Notes

Although the ferrata itself is relatively simple, the route to get there is long and not to be underestimated.
