The Rifugio Pomedes, situated in the Tofane area, is a unique place to stop and gaze at the “Alpenglow”, when the sun is just below the horizon and makes the Dolomites glow with golden-red colours. It has been run since 1956 by the Ghedina family; it has a warm atmosphere and cosy “mountain” style. Ruggero Ghedina, ski instructor, bobsleigh driver and also chef, offers authentic dishes and very healthy as he says. The most popular one is called dish of the skier, an energetic meal made with potatoes and speck ham. If you want to eat light but still enjoy the strong traditional flavors, you can choose grilled vegetables and cheese or the special spinach canerderli pasta.
