The area offers a wide variety of scenic slopes set in a spectacular landscape.
The Lagazuoi refuge, at an altitude of 2.752m, with views of the Tofane and the Marmolada, can be reached by cable car from the Falzarego mountain pass. This is the starting point for the Armentarola slope, the longest and most scenic ski run in the Dolomites, which connects Cortina with Val Badia.
In the Lagazoi-5 Torri area there are still many traces of the Great War and trenches can be visited as part of the First World War ski tour, an itinerary along the Dolomite frontline territories of Badia, Arabba, Marmolada and Civetta.
Tips: Try the Super 8 ski tour.
The summit of Piccolo Lagazuoi offers a stunning view of the 5 Torri, the most important climbing zone in the region, with 108 routes. The peak of Nuvolao (2.575m), famous for its breathtaking 360 degree panorama, is a popular destination among walkers looking for a relatively easy hike with great visual impact.
These mountains are also home to an extensive First World War Open Air Museum.
The area offers high altitude walking routes across lunar landscapes and Dolomite peaks tinged with the characteristic shades of pink at sunset.
Do not miss the hike to the enchanting Lake Federa, in which one can see the reflection of the magnificent Becco di Mezzodì.
