The autumn season offers a variety of activities and the Ampezzo Valley around Cortina gradually turns red, orange and golden yellow, leading to the phenomenon of foliage. This time of the year in Cortina is absolutely breathtaking: an ideal time for outdoor sports surrounded by nature, as well as for unforgettable sunrises and sunsets.
It is the ideal time for observing, photographing - whether beginner, hobby photographer or expert - and for experiencing special, unique moments, like a mountain breakfast with the magical atmosphere of sunrise. At dusk and down, the rocks of the Dolomites become of a colour ranging from orange to pink: this natural phenomenon is called enrosadira, or alpenglow.
With such a view you can enjoy a delicious breakfast in a mountain hut to make the moment even more special.
The mountain hut Averau, renowned for its fine cuisine and located at 2413 m in the wonderful area of the Cinque Torri, is open until 03 October and organizes for those who want to admire the sunrise from their amazing terrace a buffet breakfast starting from 6 am. It is organized on Sundays 12th, 19th and 26th September. The mountain hut can be reached hiking from Cinazopè or from the Giau pass (reservation needed).
