Since 2009, Una Montagna di Libri Cortina d'Ampezzo brings writers and readers together in the Dolomites during Summer and Winter. This international literature festival organises book presentations and public meetings with authors, Una Montagna di Libri aims at inspiring and entertaining, while communicating the latest thinking in the arts and sciences with audiences of all ages.

In Summer 2021, Una Montagna di Libri proposes over 50 meetings and presentations. While most are in Italian, some international authors are interviewd in English.

Through physical and digital events, Una Montagna di Libri gives its contribution to the flow of ideas.

EVERY YEAR, UNA MONTAGNA DI LIBRI ORGANISES TWO FESTIVAL, ONE IN SUMMER AND ONE IN WINTER

In Cortina since 2009

 Una Montagna di libri begun in 2009, proposing to the public its first meetings with journalists, writers and thinkers. Since then, over 700 events have been offered to the public, a valuable cultural offer enriching the classic holiday in the Dolomites. Froim November to Easter and from June to September, over 20,000 people have taken part in an event by Una Montagna di Libri.

 The relaxing yet sparkly atmosphere of Cortina d'Ampezzo is just perfect for a festival bringing to the public the voices of authors of the likes of André Aciman, Emmanuel Carrère and Azar Nafisi. The events are held in the halls and meeting rooms of hotels, at the Alexander Girardi Hall, at the Palazzo delle Poste but also in squares or in the meadows and mountain huts surrounding Cortina d'Ampezzo. 

The Medal of the President of the Republic

 Sergio Mattarella, current President of the Republic of Italy, awarded the Medal of Representation of the President of the Republic to the 20th edition of the festival. A testament to the cultural and civic value of Una Montagna di Libri.
