At the foot of the Queen of the Dolomites, at Malga Ciapela, you will find a 7,5 km long cross-country ski trail, situated at an altitude of between 1465 and 1575m. with a total level difference of 110 m: over the years this route, suitable for skiers of all abilities, both adults and children, has become a key elemet in the training sessions of the Sci Nordico Marmolada group. The route is a highly unusual one, running through a beautiful, fascinating landscape, across little bridges and through fir trees, where you can have a go at the skating technique as well as the more classic technique. The route is composed of three circular trails, each 2,5 km long, and each with a different level of difficulty: the Marmotte trail, where beginners can get used to narrow skis; the Aquile trail, which conforms, to FISI (Italian Winter Sport Federation) standards; and the most challenging of the three, the Orso trail. For beginners there is also a well-equipped ski school, which offers children the chance to starts to learn cross-country skiing, aided by expert instructors.
