BY RAIL ( train + bus)
If you prefer travelling by train, the main railway line is Venezia S.Lucia – Calalzo di Cadore, then transfer to Cortina by a connected bus service.

The nearest railway station is at Calalzo di Cadore, 35 km away.

The through journey from Venice to Cortina takes about 3,5 hours (train+bus).

New service: "The mountain railways"
In the daytime, Eurostar Italia services run from Rome to Milan for Mestre/Cortina and in the night, Treno Notte services run from Rome to Calalzo.
The initiative allows you to travel by Eurostar Italia from Rome (Roma Termini station) and from Milan to Mestre (mainland Venice). From Mestre, special shuttle buses wait to take you to Cortina, with connections coinciding with the arrival/departure times of your train.

On the north there is the Fortezza-Dobbiaco railway line. Transfer to Cortina by bus (www.sii.bz.it). From Fortezza to Cortina it takes about 2 hours (train+bus).

From Innsbruck, there are trains leaving each hour from 11,30am to 8,00pm. It takes about 4 hours to get to Cortina.
