Cortina dAmpezzo is in the north of the Veneto Region, within the province of Belluno, only 44 km from the Austrian border.
It is 162 km from Venice, 432 km from Milan, 692 km from Rome, and 156 km from Innsbruck.
The main international airport is the Marco Polo in Venice.
The nearest railway station is at Calalzo di Cadore, 35 km away.
The National Road 51 of Alemagna runs through Cortina in the north-south direction and the National Road 48bis of the Dolomites from east to west. Motorway exits are Exit A27 at Belluno on the south (72 km) and Exit A22 at Bressanone on the north (87 km).

Driving from south, Cortina can be conveniently reached on the motorway A27 from Mestre to Pian di Vedoja (Belluno), connected to the National Road 51 of Alemagna. About 2 hours from Mestre.
On the north, from A22 Exit at Bressanone, take the road to Dobbiaco. From Bressanone exit to Cortina it takes about 1 hour.

There are regular bus services to and from Venice with stops at Mestre and Treviso. The travel takes about 3 hours and 15 min. During the high season there is a daily service, whereas, in other periods of the year, the service is on Saturdays and Sundays only. Booking at the SE.AM ticket office in Cortina is required. "Autolinea Autostradale" provides a bus service from Milan to Cortina, through Brescia, Bergamo, Bressanone, Brunico, Dobbiaco, S.Candido.

A new direct bus service is now available between Mestre bus station and Cortina d'Ampezzo, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, in connection with the Eurostar trains arriving from Milan and Rome. A new shuttle service organized by Heliair allow to reach Cortina in 35 min. flight, leaving from Venice airport. From Mestre the train arrives at Calalzo di Cadore (last station), about 35Km before Cortina, then transfer to Cortina by a connected bus service.

TRAIN+BUS
If you prefer travelling by train, the main railway line is Venezia S.Lucia Calalzo di Cadore, then transfer to Cortina by a connected bus service (www.dolomitibus.it).
The through journey from Venice to Cortina takes about 3,5 hours (train+bus).
New services: As from the 3rd December, special trains will leave by day and night from Rome Termini and Rome Tiburtina, heading for the Dolomites. Info >>>
On the north there is the Fortezza-Dobbiaco railway line. Transfer to Cortina by bus (www.sii.bz.it). From Fortezza to Cortina it takes about 2 hours (train+bus).
From Innsbruck, there are trains leaving each hour from 11,30am to 8,00pm. It takes about 4 hours to get to Cortina.
