This refuge is the highest in the area; the incredible view of the Dolomite peaks from its terrace is famous enough for it to warrant a mention in Bell'Italia, the Touring Club Guide, the Rivista della Montagna (the Mountain Magazine) and many other publications.
It is on the
peak
of
Mount
Lagazuoi above the
Falzarego
Pass
, halfway between Cortina d'Ampezzo and the
Badia
Valley
, along the
Alta Via
No. 1 and 9, between the Natural Parks of Fanes and Sennes and the d'Ampezzo Dolomites.

Easy to reach on foot or by taking the Lagazuoi cable car, it is a perfect base for visiting the restored tunnels, trenches and emplacements of the open air museum of the Great War, for skiing in the Cortina and
Badia
Valley
territory and along the famous Armentarola slope, the longest and most spectacular in the Dolomites.
You can stay overnight, and there are also bar and restaurant facilities offering local cuisine; two delicious dishes are polenta with venison and Strudel.
Alma and Guido (in the picture) are waiting you.
Event: Mari and Monti week.
