Motorcycle Route Tour of the Park of the Friulian Dolomites (Val di Zoldo)

The tour of the Natural Park of Dolomiti Friulane touches many interesting points. It winds through the Valle del Vajont, and its tragically known dam, and the natural park. Passing through the villages of Tolmezzo and Ampezzo, it reaches Cibiana di Cadore and the Val di Zoldo.

 The starting point is Forno di Zoldo from which you follow the Val di Zoldo direction Longarone. In Longarone the dam is in front of you. The uphill runs along the river Vajont, passes the dam and reaches the small village of Erto. Here you can see the landslide which caused the tragedy. Now, you drive along the Natural Park of Dolomiti Friulane. Passing the Lago di Barcis, you continue through Sauris and Ampezzo before entering the Province of Belluno. You can have a break and visit Lorenzago di Cadore, the village where Pope Wojtyla and Pope Ratzinger spent their summer holidays. Follow the main street to Cibiana di Cadore, the village of  murals, and the Passo Cibiana. A nice landscape surrounds the Passo Cibiana where there is the way to “Museo nelle Nuvole of Monte Rite”. Just few kilometers and you are in Val di Zoldo.
