The Iron Route or la Strada de la Vena connected the ancient mines of Fursil found in Colle Santa Lucia to the smelting furnaces of Andraz Castle. The itinerary can start from the Square of Selva di Cadore climbing direction Cazzetta Museum and just before reaching the museum up the road to the left that leads to the hamlets of Rova and higher Zardin and from there reach the crossing with the Passo Giau, down a few turns and climb to Posalz. From Posalz that eventually you can reach by car, there is the first of Mines tunnel Fursil, these iron mines at the foot of Monte Pore were the most important of the entire Dolomite area and provided the numerous iron smelting furnaces Zoldano, Cadore, Agordino and the Val Badia. The path at some stretch a bit steep continues for Costauta, Ru and villages where there are other entrances to the mines. Then it continues more gradually through the beautiful villages of Canazei, Colcuc and Larzonei. After Larzonei continuing you get to the Andraz Castle in the territory of Pieve di Livinallongo headquarters once the captain who oversaw the Mines of Fursil and the Castle.
