While driving up the road to the Giau Pass, one encounters the remnants of the "Muraglia di Giau" stretching from Becco Muraglia to Crepe di Formin. Originally, this stone wall was about 80 cm high with a width of 150 cm at the base and 60cm at the top.
The residents of San Vito were compelled to build the wall by the officers of the Venetian Republic and the Hapsburg Empire to settle the dispute on the borders between Cortina and San Vito.
