The dirt road (n. 464) leaves just from the park of Rifugio Fedare, following, more or less, the track of the chairlift. The path leads easily to the first step, Rifugio Averau. The way is open and sunny with beautiful landscapes, and it is easy to see one of the many lovely marmots which live here. The path climbs slightly up to Nuvolao col from where you will have a wonderful view on the Tofane and Cinque Torri just in front of you. Here Rifugio Averau, in a dominating position, is a good place for a rest and a meal before carrying on along the last stretch which leads to the top. From here keep right following the signs to the crossway with the path n. 439 of Alta Via coming up from Cortina, and walk along a huge rocky plate which, in 30 minutes, leads to the final destination: Rifugio Nuvolau. The 360° view on the surroundings is amazing. Go back down along the same path.
