TREKKING ROUTES | THE KINGDOM OF CHAMOIS | SELVA DI CADORE | DOLOMITES UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site

From the lovely hamlet of Toffol, where you can park your car, go up through the typical building ( CAI sign n. 465 on the corner of a traditional hayloft. Take the grassy path. Turn right and cross the Loschiesuoi brook. You will arrive in a nice grassy plane which, turning on the left, leads up along the valley through a bushy fir wood. Go along the wild valley of Loschiesuoi brook. Once you are out of the wood, after about an hour walk go along a grassy way up to a turning point with clear signs, leave the way n. 465 and turn right towards the near  Ponte di Sasso and carry on to Piz del Corvo. Here the place is amazing for its natural architecture and the rich flora in summer. Cross the little natural bridge and get into a wide valley where you can easily see the marmots. The way here is signed with red big points. Just opposite you will see the volcanic walls of Corvo Alto and, a bit over, the big wall of Lastoni di Formin. From the top  you will see Pelmo and  Civetta  Mounts. From here you can carry on along a steep path up to the highest point, Piz del Cervo ( with the typical cross and book for your signature) from where you have a beautiful view all over the Dolomites. On the way back, follow the little poles with the red top sticked into the ground all along the meadow and which lead you to the ruins of Casera Vallazza. Carry on, following the little red poles, down to the path n. 466, near Cordon brook, follow it and get into the valley of Mondeval di Sotto. Here you will be on the road to the Hamlet of Toffol.

Alternative route: from the top go back down following Rio delle Baste to the path n. 465 which goes up to the grassy slopes of the Group and Val Cernera. In a short time you are at Forcella Giau from where you have a beautiful view on the Tofane Group. Go down along the CAI path n. 436 of the Alta Via n. 1 leading to Giau Pass. In summer at 3.55 pm there’ s a bus coming from Cortina d’ Ampezzo driving to Colle Santa Lucia and then to Santa Fosca and in few minutes to the little hamlet of Toffol.
