WALKING | PESCUL - CIMA FERTAZZA | SELVA DI CADORE | DOLOMITES UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site

Easy and panoramic route in one of the most suggestive landscapes of the Dolomites. Leave from the wide parking at the departure station of the Pescul-Fertazza chairlift, in the hamlet of Pescul, follow the C.A.I. path n. 569 which enters in one of the most beautiful wood of spruce pines of the Dolomites, whose timber has a high quality certification and whose best trunks are used to produce musical instruments. Two kilometres further, on a curve, there are two dirt roads: a very steep one which goes downwards, the other leads to Col de la Chizza, Col de la Montagna. Pass over this crossway and go on for other two kilometres and you are at you destination: the wonderful Meadows of Fertazza. Go on following the local path which starts from behind the Ristoro Fertazza and takes to the crossway with the C.A.I. path n. 568; from here in less than a hour you are on the top of Monte Fertazza, where the panorama on the Dolomites and the Lake of Alleghe is amazing.

Alternative route: from the top of Monte Fertazza take the path n. 568 (on the right towards Pelmo Mount) which goes down to the Forcella Pecol  where you can find the signs for the dairyfarms (the "malghe") and Pescul. Go on the right for ca 100 m and you will reach the sunny Fontanafredda dairyfarm or from Forcella Pecol down to Viza de Mareson to reach locations the Palui. On the left a nice trail back to the main street n 251 a hundred meters from Pescul.
