BACKCOUNTRY SKIING ON THE VIA LIVIA (MARMOLADA) - This off-piste route offers an incomparable 360° panorama on the dolomitic peaks that surrounds the Queen of the Dolomites. According to the extreme difficult of this itinerary, the Via Lidia is suitable only to expert backcountry skiers with a great experience. From the arrival station of the Marmolada Cable Car in Punta Rocca, take the descent on the left side (the ski slope will remain thus on your right side). In a few minutes you'll reach the two rocky masses that are located on the north side of Mt. Marmolada; take the descent next to the Sasso delle Undici, than cross the rock on the right without loosing altitude and crossing some little valleys (choose the best way according to your skills to reach the mountain pass below). This last part can be extremely dangerous because of the instability of the snow; if you notice something strange with the snow, it is advisable to skiing towards the lake and to come to the start point along the street.

Notes

The freeride is a sport that you do at your own risk. We suggest to contact the Alpine Guides or the Ski Schools before leaving.
