Here comes St. Nicholas

On Tuesday, 5 December 2023 at 17:00 in the churchyard of the Parish Church of Saints Philip and James in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Saint Nicholas will meet the children and distribute a small gift to all.

He will arrive in a carriage accompanied by angels and will be welcomed by the parish priest Don Ivano and the ringing of bells.

The traditional small bag prepared by the Union de i Ladis d'Anpezo will be distributed to all children present, containing a new didactic booklet for the knowledge of the Ampezzo territory, with a small game and some sweets.

The event is organised by the Union de i Ladis d'Anpezo, but it would not be possible without the indispensable contribution of the Cortina d'Ampezzo Town Council, the Filodrammatica d'Ampezzo and the Parish of Saints Philip and James. The Feast of St Nicholas has ancient roots in the culture of our village.

Even today, St Nicholas is for children a character of great charm and charisma, he represents Goodness and Goodness and stands as an example to be followed in preparation for the birth of Jesus, which will take place 20 days later.
