This simple, but splendid activity allows excursionists to explore snow-covered mountains, offering both physical exercise and exceptional nature experiences.
There are no particular technical nor physical requirements to be able to practise this rapidly growing sport.
It is essential to have knowledge of the mountain, and of the weather and snow conditions in order to be able to choose safe itineraries.
It is highly recommended to hire a professional mountain guide to move in safety.
Many itineraries used for hiking in summer are ideal for snowshoe excursions in winter. These include the route from Sant’Umberto to Malga Ra Stua, the military road from Passo Falzarego to Rifugio Dibona, the forest road from Cian Zopé to Rifugio Scoiattoli, from Campo to Rifugio da Croda da Lago, from Guargnè/Col Tondo to Rifugio Mietres, and from Campo to Rifugio Lago d’Ajal.
Please note that snowshoes are not permitted on the Nordic Ski tracks.
