Capture the enchanting views of the UNESCO Dolomites and all their autumn colours

October sets ablaze the woods surrounding Cortina d’Ampezzo with the bright colours of autumn foliage. The crisp air is a shot of vitality and has a fresh smell of wood, the trails are silent and the best spots almost empty. The UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites rise from the woods and meadows, while Alpine lakes, high-mountain pastures and traditional houses provide picturesque settings to admire and capture on camera.
It is the perfect period for amateur and professional photographers to visit.

Besides famous spots such as Lake Federa, the Cinque Torri and Passo Giau, a classic for photographers in all seasons, there are countless other places that lend themselves perfectly to a photo session thanks to the autumn light and colours.
Amateurs and experts can take part in experiences such as photo trekkings to discover some of the most fascinating places in Cortina with a local photographer, who will help participants choose the best light and moments for a series of amazing photos.

Besides trekking, mountain biking is another way to explore Cortina and its autumn landscapes and reach unique photo spots. A much faster way, but still very scenic, is the Lagazuoi cable car, usually open until towards the end of October: in only a couple minutes, it covers a vertical difference of almost 700m and leaves guests close to Rifugio Lagazuoi and its incredibly panoramic terrace, with a view on some of the most iconic peaks of the Dolomites.
